WELCOME!
GLI is a leadership development program that builds
essential skills, mentoring and networking opportunities for aspiring community
leaders from Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Fellows initiate community projects
to address important issues and apply their skills to involve other volunteers
to make a meaningful difference. GLI Fellows are passionate about serving our
community, yet are underrepresented in current leadership positions and they
operate outside the “executive board room.” Their power lies in their places of
worship, neighborhoods, and community-based organizations. Through the
Grassroots Leadership Initiative, community leaders are exposed to a leadership
approach that emphasizes inclusion and transformation of community from the
inside out.
We are currently accepting applications for the 2009 class.
The Grassroots Leadership Initiative is in a restructuring
phase and GLI alumni are working together to lead the effort to create the
future of GLI. The 2009 Class application process and start date
are subject to the reorganizing and restructuring of the program.
We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm to be a part of GLI.
The commitment to the GLI mission is unwavering.
